EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc., a major player in global logistics, has announced the layoff of 650 employees.

The company revealed this news on Thursday, November 10, and assured that all workers affected will receive support during their transition to new job opportunities.

C.H. Robinson pointed to challenging market conditions and its recent initiatives to enhance operational efficiency as the driving factors for the job reductions.

Rising Operational Costs

In its earnings report dated November 3, the company noted a 12.4% rise in operating costs, primarily due to personnel expenses, which increased by 9.4% to reach $437.5 million.

According to Duncan Burns, chief communications officer at C.H. Robinson, “Changes in market conditions, combined with numerous successful projects on our digital roadmap aimed at improving efficiency, have enabled us to reassess our cost structure.”
